Peacock Goddess

I created this silk scarf for a private commission. Interestingly when the person received the scarf she told me she’d had a dream about a Peacock Goddess. Interesting….

I used lots of gold gutta on this one. For peacocks, I think you can never have too much bling! I think I’ll be doing some more peacock inspired things soon! I’ve already bought the turquoise shaded sequins!

Hey, I'm a textile artist based in the UK. I like playing around with fabric paint, stitching both hand and machine embroidery and I have far too many sequins. I'm inspired by nature, its mysteries, subtleties, delights and complexities. The outer natural world has its counterpart in the inner spiritual world and I am also inspired by folklore, poetry, fairytales, stories of long ago when the spirits of nature seemed less shy than they do today, as well as my own shamanic journeys into the dreamland.

Love this silk scarf. I’m really drawn to peacocks and would love to work one up somehow in a quilt. Still processing on that on:)

Hi Laura, glad you like the scarf. I love peacocks too and never really get tired of how gorgeous they are. Having their imagery in a quilt would be awesome, go for it! I expect photos!
